Helping you make sense of work and pay.

Econified was built on a simple observation: most career decisions come down to numbers that are surprisingly hard to compare fairly. Should you take the higher-salary job with worse benefits? Is freelancing actually more profitable than employment? Does a remote position at lower pay beat an office job with a long commute? The answers are in the math — but the math is rarely straightforward.

We built Econified to make that math accessible. The platform is a collection of interactive calculators and in-depth guides designed to help you strip away assumptions and see the real financial trade-offs behind work decisions.

Why We Built This

Career advice is everywhere, but most of it is qualitative — "follow your passion," "negotiate confidently," "know your worth." That advice is well-intentioned but incomplete. It rarely tells you how to calculate your worth, or what the actual dollar difference is between two job offers after you factor in PTO, retirement matching, and commute costs.

Econified fills that gap. Every tool on this platform starts with a formula, shows its assumptions, and lets you adjust the inputs to match your real situation. The goal is not to tell you what to do — it is to give you the numbers so you can decide with confidence.

Our Approach

Each Econified tool is built around three principles:

Data Sources and Methodology

Our cost-of-living comparisons use publicly available index data from sources including Numbeo and government statistical agencies. Currency conversion rates are updated regularly. Each tool page documents its specific methodology, assumptions, and limitations so you can evaluate the results critically.

The career economics guides provide deeper context behind the calculations, including worked examples with real-world dollar amounts and comparison tables you can reference alongside the tools.

Independence and Limitations

Econified operates independently and is not affiliated with any employer, recruiting firm, or financial institution. The platform does not provide financial, tax, or legal advice. All results are estimates intended for informational and educational purposes. For decisions involving significant financial consequences, we recommend consulting a qualified professional who can account for your complete personal situation.
